Route 33 over the Mattaponi River

Route 33 over the Mattaponi River

West Point, VA – Fredericksburg District

This $36.6 million joint venture between Bryant Contracting and McLean Contracting primarily consisted of a 3500 ft. long by 70 ft. wide river/wetland crossing, a small creek crossing, significant roadway work, a six-acre tidal wetland mitigation site, subsurface ground improvement piling, and numerous underground utilities. Bryant was responsible for 900 ft. of the main structure over wetlands, the 80 ft. creek crossing, the ground improvement piling, and coordinating roadway subcontractors. The successful completion of this high profile project is a testament to BCI’s ability to coordinate complex projects. This project won the 2006 Virginia Statewide Construction Quality Award.
